Setting up the virtual drives X and T

Drive X is required for editors and plug-ins functioning. Drive X is mapped to the local directory c:\Program Files\X-Ray SDK\editors

Drive T is required for editors and plug-ins functioning. Drive T is mapped to the local directory c:\Program Files\X-Ray SDK\editors\gamedata\textures


Attention Drive X and drive T is necessary for the work


For drive Х and drive T creation go to the menu
Start -> Programs -> X-Ray SDK
as shown in picture below:
Create drive X
Create drive X

It's necessary to launch Map Drives every time before starting working with SDK.

We suggest adding this file to the startup programs

Scripts and plug-ins settings

  • Copy all files from
    c:\Program Files\X-Ray SDK\scripts_plugins\scripts
    to the folder
    C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\My Documents\maya\scripts
  • Copy all files from
    c:\Program Files\X-Ray SDK\scripts_plugins\ver-2008
    to the folder
    C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2008\bin

Maya 8.5 settings

  • Launch Maya 8.5.
  • Go to windows -> settings/preferences -> plug-in manager.

  • Set xrayMaya_export.mll, xrayMaya_material.mll to Loaded, Auto Load.
    It is necessary to load the plug-in's of: geometry export to the game's format and adjusting game shaders.
